CMF Commits $250K to Creepy Bits Season 2

Toronto – Dec 15, 2022

The Canadian Media Fund today announced which digital series will receive CMF funding in 2023 and Creepy Bits Season 2 garnered a commitment of $250K.

Season 1 was produced, written and directed by David J. Fernandes. For season 2, Fernandes expanded the creative and producing team, adding Ashlea Wessel, Sid Zanforlin, Adrian Bobb and Kelly Paoli to the directing team with multi-award winning digital series powerhouse, LaRue Productions, helming the producing side.

“Season 1 was a self-funded passion project for me, so I can’t tell you how excited I am about season 2. I think we have some amazing, very original, very Canadian short horror stories in the works and I just can’t wait to get started on making them,” Fernandes said.

Creepy Bits Season 2 takes place entirely in rural Ontario, in and around Bobcaygeon and the Kawartha Lakes region. Featuring ten new tales of terror by five of Canada’s up-and-coming indie horror directors, Creepy Bits Season 2 intends to wipe the smirk off friendly beavers and moose and show the Canadian wilderness for what it actually is: absolutely terrifying.
